I feel like the only person left who prefers linear comments to the threaded structure. Threaded comments just feels like a step back into internet pre-history. Most forums discarded the threaded structure years ago, so it doesn’t make sense to me why anime bloggers are so keen to use them again.
IMO it’s much easier to branch off into other avenues of conversation and still have some idea of what’s going on, vs. trying to keep track of who’s talking about what in one big list. And it’s not just anime blogs moving that way, it’s lots of blogs.
