12 days, 5cm at a time, day 10
A reminder.
I’m pretty late in seeing this movie, but that doesn’t lessen its impact on me. As bloggers, we watch a lot of anime. TV anime especially. And we tend to get tunnel vision when it comes to tropes, clichés, shortcuts, harems, flags, etc. etc. It’s fun, but it’s rarely… real.
Sometimes it’s nice to get real sad about something for real, and sometimes it’s nice just to watch a rocket take off.

That rocket taking off is the saddest part of all, and the most beautiful. There’s really something about trying to be a master of something, but not mastering the thing for yourself but to make someone love you.
It’s almost destined to fail, but the way it plays hopscotch between selfishness and selflessness and being wholly about being in-love, I can’t be anything else but moved by this wonderful, terrible second arc.
Dude, this title screams for a more in-depth review. Make it so!
I haven’t seen the movie yet, but I’m in the process of hunting it down. There’s been a decent amount of hype about it so I look forward to holding back some tears.
