I don’t know how to filter out the red herrings, I wasn’t blogging when I watched the first series so I’m not sure I really was paying proper attention to the point where I could go back and say “that turned out to mean something.” I see it all, but I really don’t know what’s of note. Consider the OP — it’s obviously very noticeable that they’ve been adding colors and whatnot to it, and then suddenly removed all evidence of people from both the music and the animation. But I didn’t see how it related to episode 6. Will it mean something in the coming episodes? Maybe.

@ghostlightning – If you ask me, ef offers something really cool that nothing else, even with Shinbo’s name on it, can. But definitely watch Memories first because as nontraditional as the series is, Melodies is most definitely a sequel.

Interesting post… though I’m surprised by how few things you noted. I almost expected you to make note of maybe four times as many “omg lulz effects.” Maybe you’re already filtering out those that you think are red herrings?
