That drives me nuts. Call it a pet peeve. With anime, the synchronization isn't so horrible, and I think I find dubbing in that regard more tolerable than you "otakuest" of otaku. Eventually, my attitude turned neutral towards the whole dub vs sub thing. But lately... either I've been watching some ridiculously horrible dubs (like Gatchaman) or I'm converting to the sub camp. I can’t stand dubs over live action films, mostly because the synchronization is and always will be off. That drives me nuts. Call it a pet peeve.
